The company trusted me to competently solve the existing problems. In this case, it was a matter of acting quickly and correcting the technical deficiencies without philosophizing for a long time. 

• Setting up access, creating a backup and checking server settings: After I got access to the backend of the WordPress site and was able to set up access to the server, the first thing I did was create a current backup of the website. This was followed by checking and improving the settings on the server. This includes, among other things, checking and adjusting the PHP version, WP memory, browser caching, etc.

• Perform updates: Since I decided not to clone the website in consultation with the customer and worked directly on the live website, I had to be particularly careful and update existing plugins step by step to avoid a possible crash the website and to recognize immediately if it does happen. Additionally, the company trusted me to decide which plugins were useful and necessary and which ones could be removed. I also set up a security plugin with a firewall to protect the websites. Unnecessary themes were deleted and existing ones were updated, thereby increasing web security.

• Bugfix Elementor: During work, we surprisingly discovered a problem with the plugin and page builder Elementor, which could no longer load the widgets. This unexpected problem was solved competently within a very short time.

• SEO / Optimize images: As additional work, I was able to make further crucial technical improvements to the existing image material and the all-important SEO.

• Conclusion: In the end, the websites were returned to the customer and were completely overhauled and technically repaired. The technical structure of the websites, performance, SEO and loading time have been improved. In addition, I now monitor and secure both websites for problems.
