Sternenschmuck

Redesigning the website of the boutique Sternenschmuck was a challenging and holistic task that required all my experience.

Initial situation

The boutique Sternenschmuck had a website with various shortcomings: The design was unprofessional, very simple and did not match the style of the boutique, the loading time was surprisingly slow despite low content and the created online store was not visually attractive and also did not work.

Analysis

During our analysis and subsequent preparation for correcting the defects, redesigning and establishing the functionality of the store, we encountered other defects, some of them technical. The following deficiencies needed to be fixed urgently:

  • Duplicate database: To our great surprise, when we created the test site, we found that the WordPress homepage database was nonsensically duplicated, which affected its smooth functioning.
  • Application Error: During the revision of the homepage we had to discover application errors of the existing software.
  • Loading time: With over 10 seconds loading time on desktop and over 40 seconds on mobile, the homepage loading time took way too long.
  • Design: Take a look for yourself, what do you think of the previous design?
  • Online store: This did not work, the boutique had to sell through its Facebook channel.

Power

After comprehensive analysis of the website and its technical and functional deficiencies, we started the redesign and redesign of the website in constant consultation with the company.

Result

The following results and changes were achieved and brought about by our conception and realization of the website:

  • Database optimized: The database of the homepage was completely revised and unnecessary tables were deleted, which resulted in a massive reduction of the database and its size.
  • Application error fixed: Numerous unused and useless plugins were deleted or disabled. At the same time, important plugins were installed.
  • Loading time minimized: The loading time has been reduced to less than 2 seconds.
  • Individual design created: The design was developed in constant consultation with the entrepreneur.
  • Online store made functional: The store was made visually modern and functional. Now the boutique can sell professionally online.

After our realization, the boutique had a top modern, individually designed, super fast loading website with modern, well-functioning online store. The order was fulfilled to (and above) 100%.
